We don’t need to tell you about endless security queues in hot stuffy terminals for you to know there’s a reason people choose to fly privately. But don’t just hear it from us, below are the top five most frequented airports among DeluxeJet clients, as of January 2025.
1. Teterboro Airport (TEB) – New Jersey, USA
Teterboro Airport is the natural choice for anyone wanting to fly into the New York area privately. The airfield is located just 12 miles from Manhattan and boasts five fixed-based operators (FBOs) which offer exceptional privacy and service, high-end lounges and quick processing times.
Its proximity to the Big Apple, enhanced by regular BLADE helicopter connections to West 30th Street, East 34th Street and Wall Street make it a favourite for business executives and celebrities alike. Furthermore, its popularity means that last-minute onward connections are readily available whether travelling domestically, seeking sun or ski in the Caribbean or Canada, or if you need to fly intercontinentally.
The above, coupled with its reliability, continued investment and reputation for convenience means that Teterboro is the most popular US airport and one of the most frequently used airports globally by DeluxeJet clients.
2. London Luton Airport (LTN) – London, UK
London Luton Airport – 30 miles from central London – is among Europe’s busiest airports for business and private aviation traffic.
The Bedfordshire hub operates 24 hours-a-day and plays host to several world-class FBOs including Harrods Aviation which provide luxurious facilities and can assist in making your travel arrangements seamless.
While a major gateway to London, Luton is also a hotspot for outgoing business traffic to Milan, Frankfurt and Geneva, as well as leisure hotspots including the French Riviera and the Balearic Islands.
Luton Airport has almost become the default UK airport for those trusting DeluxeJet with their travel arrangements. Unsurprising given its proximity to London, the headquarters of several Formula One teams and much of the south of England, but no mean feat for an airport with stiff competition from Farnborough, Stansted, Biggin Hill and others.
3. Le Bourget Airport (LBG) – Paris, France
Once France’s busiest airport, Le Bourget became a specialist Business Aviation centre with the opening of Charles de Gaulle Airport in 1974. It is steeped in aviation history, having been where Charles Lindbergh landed the Spirit of St. Louis at the end of the first solo, non-stop flight between New York and Paris in 1927. It also hosts the biennial Paris Air Show, the world’s biggest aviation trade fair and airshow.
Le Bourget’s proximity to Paris has established it as a hub for high-profile individuals, corporate executives, and dignitaries and heads of state. It has also embraced environmental initiatives such as sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and electric ground support equipment. These efforts, along with some of the world’s finest lounges, put DeluxeJet’s most discerning and environmentally conscious clients equally at ease.
Given its role as a solely business aviation airport for the French capital, Le Bourget not only offers class-leading FBOs but France’s national Musee de l’air and de l’espace. This means any down time ahead of a flight can either be spent relaxing in an opulent lounge or immersed in the country’s aviation heritage. The museum – located at Le Bourget itself – enables travellers to step aboard icons including two Concordes, a Boeing 747 and an Airbus A380 before boarding their own flight on a state-of-the-art business jet.
4. Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) – Dubai, UAE
Al Maktoum International Airport is set to become Dubai’s main airport over the next several years. However, while it is set to eclipse the incumbent airport – home to Emirates and its vast fleet of A380s for the time being – private aviation hasn’t been overlooked.
Al Maktoum, also known as Dubai World Central, is home to major FBOs ran by ExecuJet, Falcon Aviation and JETEX, with the lattermost being the flagship JETEX private aviation terminal. The airport’s modern facilities include luxurious lounges, personalised ground services, and scalable infrastructure to accommodate growing demand.
Dubai’s reputation for opulence extends to Al Maktoum International, making it a preferred hub for those seeking the ultimate travel experience, whether that be for business or leisure.
5. Zurich Airport (ZRH) – Zurich, Switzerland
Zurich Airport’s world-class FBOs and private aviation facilities combine the best the industry has to offer with Swiss efficiency.
Again, proximity to the city centre is a strong point for Zurich Airport, while exceptional FBOs and private jet terminals are in plentiful supply. The hub is primarily the preserve of those travelling for business, with DeluxeJet clients seeking snow and ski preferring Samedan, Chambéry or Bern.
